Battenberg, Hoswick, and happy days

Lerwick harbour today. Beautiful weather, icecreams and smiles. A trip down south and an afternoon spent in Hoswick. Here I found much to keep me happy - the Visitor Centre - vintage radios, weaving machines, and a café with a golden view: pot of tea and slice of fruity-fruit cake enjoyed. A few minutes walk down the road I came across 2 knitwear shops - one contemporary and one traditional. I indulged! Much chatting and laughing everywhere I ambled. 3Cs achieved (cake + chat + clothes) = a fun day!

More information about above trip on Facebook: Shetland my Love & Promote Shetland Hope to see you over on SML and PS. Postings vary from site to site - so worth joining both! (More about contemporary knitter tomorrow on FB)

PS Sandwick Bakery does a very yummy Battenberg cake and I had a lovely chat in there too. Top holiday tip: set off very early for day trips, people are incredibly friendly and it will take a long time to get anywhere!
